    Media monitoring in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania regarding Russian influences.

  • Methodology

    Revealing the essence of modern threats that have arisen in the information sphere at the regional level and caused by the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation. The research relies on new theoretical trends in combination with the classical ones regarding the capabilities and methodology of understanding contemporary problems of international security. At the same time, the analyzed approaches determine the current understanding, content, and essence of information security in all its manifestations, from the formation of national interests of individual states to the practical mechanisms of functioning of the regional system of international security.

    Mass media, political parties, NGOs, public authorities and local self-government.

    Promoting information policy correction in the Carpathian region to effectively counteract Russian interference.

    • European experience and values of the population of the Carpathian Euroregion of Ukraine. A pilot sociological study on the European experience and values and attitudes of the population of the Carpathian region.
    • Description

      At the first stage of the research it is planned to identify the level of knowledge of target audiences of key staff of JMTC, as well as all participants of the process of learning and informing about European Studies through questionnaires. The second task is to conduct a survey of a selection group of Carpathian citizens regarding their level of knowledge and awareness of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as their value and migrant sentiment in the Carpathian region. Thirdly, to improve the methodology of conducting in 2022-2023 a fundamental study of the knowledge of target audiences, Jean Monnet project participants and a sample of the population regarding the aforementioned issues and the effectiveness of JMTC’s activities.

    • Methodology

      The pilot sociological research is conducted on the basis of the developed scientific program, which will propose a methodology for conducting the first stage of the pilot research project, during which the methodology will be questioned and tested. According to the survey, the level of knowledge of the target audience and the awareness of the participants and the population about the European experience will be fixed, and the organizers will be provided with material for reflection and discussion. Its results will make it possible to substantially and meaningfully update the subject of discussion during the round table and the first conference, to be used for publications and collections.

    • Impact

      Analysis and further influence on the mood of part of the population of the Carpathian Basin, scientific and educational intelligentsia, students and heads of local authorities and self-government, institutes of civil society. Provide management entities and non-governmental organizations with objective assessments of the new situation in the region, as well as materials from the pilot study of key project workers, specific information on assessing the level of knowledge of project participants and public awareness at the first stage of its implementation, which will take into account the formation of new knowledge in target audiences, quality assimilation of the European experience.

    • Resulting publications

      The obtained data will allow to study and analyze at each stage the level of knowledge of project participants about the European Studies, to record the awareness of the population at the beginning of creation of JMTC, and at the end - to determine the effectiveness of its activity in 2020-2023, to conduct a series of meaningful activities, to use the received materials for reflection and publication scientific articles, publication of scientific collections, development of cross-border cooperation. The results of the study will allow testing and perfection of the methodology and methodology of analysis through the lens of European experience, to publish them in publications indexed in scientometric databases. During the project implementation period a chapter in the final collective monograph and a study manual will also be published.

On June 23 - 25, 2021, Uzhhorod National University hosted the Second Summer School on the course «Immigration and Transnationalism: The EU Experience» As a result of classes, a pilot sociological study on the values of its participants was conducted among the students of this summer school.

  • University complex as a center of development of the regional system of continuous education. Defining and generalizing EU practices in the field of education for implementation in the institution of higher education of Ukraine, the development of the Development Strategy of Uzhhorod National University for 2021-2030.
  • Description

    Studying cities and regions are a common concept of European regional policy in the field of education and science. It is reflected in the Europe 2020 Strategy. In fact, it is the learning regions that are becoming an increasingly important source of innovation and economic growth, acting as "cumulators" of ideas and knowledge, providing support for the environment and infrastructure that enhance this flow of knowledge and ideas. Given that many EU countries, including Hungary, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, have considerable experience in this field, it is envisaged to study and summarize their practices for implementation at Ukrainian universities.

    We believe that the research will answer the challenges facing the universities of Ukraine, including quality problems, combining the components of the knowledge triangle, training qualified professionals and fulfilling employers social order and implementing universities’ scientific development in production.

  • Methodology

    The methodological basis of the research is based on the conclusions of the World Economic Forum on providing training for the specialists who will be the most in demand after 2020 and able to provide the solution of complex problems, have critical thinking, managerial talents, be creative, be able to interact with people, make effective decisions, be client-oriented, be able to negotiate, learn quickly, and speak fluent languages.

    The study includes the following stages: the first is the study, analysis, synthesis of European practices on research issues; the second - on the basis of the findings, the best experience of the leading universities in Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv) is compared; the third stage: on the basis of the conclusions on best practices, a prospectus is developed to form a final document on the topic of research on the connection of universities to the economic and social growth of the Transcarpathian and Transcarpathian regions.

  • Impact

    Based on the findings of the most effective practices of universities in Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Hungary and leading universities in Ukraine, it is projected:

    1) Attraction of the best world technologies, formation of management practices and the opportunity to get a high-level education, to introduce students to employers; the ability to easily and quickly select employees through a dedicated search engine or opportunities to invest in the perfect people and team. Desirable concentration of educational, production, state, financial resources;

    2) Deliver lifelong learning through sharing experience and knowledge, conducting workshops, combining online learning and testing on a hub portal with hands-on skills training with a professional trainer, Skype conferences, developing IT skills, and training senior representatives the enjoyment of computer use and the like.

    The implementation of these plans will help transform the principles of a traditional university into an innovative one.

  • Resulting publications

    The results of the study will be the final document of the Uzhhorod National University Development Strategy for 2020-2025, which should be based on already existing concepts and become a road map for the development of the university, will help to improve the effectiveness of cooperation between the university and enterprises. As a result of UzhNU, along with the introduction of innovative practices of European universities will become an important factor of regional growth.

    During the project implementation period a chapter in the final collective monograph will also be published.

  • Improving the quality of European studies through cooperation with higher education institutions in the neighboring EU Member States. Analyzing the peculiarities of Ukraine's regional cooperation with Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary in the humanitarian and higher education sectors will be analyzed.
  • Description

 The specificity of Ukraine's regional cooperation with Poland, Slovakia, Romania, and Hungary in the humanities and higher education sectors will be analyzed. An important component will be the study of the common cultural heritage in the region. The research will be carried out in connection with the European orientation in the Carpathian region and Ukraine's accession to the European educational and scientific space. It will also address the quality of education, the versatility of graduate training and its adaptability to the international labor market. The transition to a person-centered learning process that determines the importance of education in ensuring sustainable human development will be explored.

Indicative topics for research:

 ○ European models of socio-cultural dialogue: experience for Ukraine;

 ○ Joint cultural heritage is the basis for regional cooperation of the Carpathian Euroregion;

 ○ Cross-border cooperation in education and science;

 ○ Internationalization of international cooperation and its impact on the development of European studies;

 ○ Formation of professional competence in terms of integration into the European educational space;

 ○ European approaches to youth policy-making.

  • Methodology

The study of Ukraine's cooperation with European countries will be based on current theories of international relations. The focus will be on the globalization of international relations and internationalization. The involvement of domestic and foreign experts and researchers will become an important pillar for generalization and analytical conclusions.

  • Impact

The results of the research will contribute to the intensification and systematization of the international component in the educational, scientific and social activities of higher education institutions in the region. It is planned to develop a strategy for implementing a European approach in national education policy.

  • Resulting publications

During the project implementation period analytical articles and a chapter in the final collective monograph “European Development Strategies: Experience for Ukraine” will be published.
