Work report of the first summer school of the training course: ‘Cross-Border Cooperation in the Context of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement: Educational and Scientific Aspects 2017-2020' of the Project Manager Ivan Artyomov.

The first stage of the summer school was held in the form of an internship for fourth-year students of the Faculty of History and International Relations at the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies of UzhNU from May 10 to May 25, 2021. The Institute initiated the preparation of a project to establish the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence for Studying European Development Strategies in Uzhhorod National University and is its main executor.
Each student prepared a report in the form of an extended abstract on the results of the internship.

 Vladyslava Tusher, Renata Bohdan – ‘Regional Policy Countries of the Visegrad Four’.
 Nelya Mushka, Oleksandra Dzyamko – ‘Security Factors of Ukraines Foreign Policy’.
 Angelina-Valeriya Yablonska, Estera Tafiy – ‘European Integration - a Strategic Foreign Policy Priority of Ukraine.’
 Natalya Radevych – ‘The Current State of Ukrainian-Polish Relations: Challenges and Ways to Solve them’ and others.
All students successfully defended the final practical work and received corresponding grades.
The second stage of the main thematic part of the summer school:
‘Cross-Border Cooperation in the Context of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement: Educational and Scientific Aspects 2017-2020; in the framework of the scientific project ‘Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for the Studying European Development Strategies» (JMTC) at Uzhhorod National University’ took place on 7-10 June, 2021.
20 students of 1-4 years of studying from the Faculty of History and International Relations of Uzhhorod National University participated in the summer school.Tokar1

Classes for the first three days were held in a specialized auditorium of Jean Monnet, the last day – was held in the online format, as the representatives from Kyiv were invited to give lectures.


Project Manager, Candidate of Historical Sciences Ivan Artyomov summed up the results of the first summer school ‘Cross-Border Cooperation in the Context of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement: Educational and Scientific Aspects 2017-2020'. All participants of the event were awarded certificates.
Students of the summer school ‘Cross-Border Cooperation in the Context of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement: Educational and Scientific Aspects 2017-2020 noted the high representative level of speakers and the relevance of the
topics discussed: ‘Ukraine’s place and role in the geopolitical space of today’, ‘Migration and demographic challenges for Ukraine: ways to minimize problems’,’The sphere of higher education and its role in the foreign policy of the state’, ‘The main tasks of higher education at the present stage of development of EHEA’, etc.
The students also noted the high level of organization of events in the framework the summer school and its positive importance for increasing their competence in the field of cross-border cooperation in Ukraine.
