Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students, postgraduate and doctoral students, and, finally, anyone who wanted to increase their knowledge in this field were the target audience of the online summer school.

Lecturer and organizer of the summer school Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Researcher of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies of UzhNU, Associate Professor of the Department of International Studies and Public Communication, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Migration and Demography of Uzhhorod National University, Director of JMTC, Honorary Professor of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Petro Tokar.

Director of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies of SU ‘Uzhhorod National University’, Candidate of Historical Sciences,  Associate Professor Ivan Artyomov, Dean of the Faculty of History and International Relations, Candidate of Historical Sciences,  Associate Professor Vitaliy Andreyko, Associate Professor of the Department of International Studies and Public Communication Mykhaylo Shelemba, employees of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies took part in the opening of the summer online school.

The third summer online school was held via a video conferencing app, Google Meet. Public figures of Ukraine, leading scientists on immigration and transnationalism, and modern migration processes in Ukraine and the EU in wartime, lecturers of the Department of International Studies and Public Communications of UzhNU and other scientists became speakers at the Summer School.

The listeners of the online school noted the high competence and scientific and methodological level of speakers, and relevance of their reports, namely:

  • Lecture: ‘The Main Principles of Ukraine’s Migration Policy and the Attitude of Political Forces towards Refugees from Ukraine in the European Union’ – Oleksiy Goncharenko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Member of the Ukrainian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Vice President of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, a member of the European Solidarity faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
  • Lecture: ‘External Migration in Wartime Conditions: Unknown Scale, Atypical Composition, Uncertain Prospects’ – Olena Malynovska, Doctor of Science in Public Administration, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Chief Researcher of Social Strategy Department of the Center for Economic and Social Studies of NISS.
  • Lecture: ‘Demographic Trends and Prospects of Ukraine’– Oleksandr Hladun, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Deputy Director for Research of the Ptoukha Institute for Demography and Social Studies of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine.
  • Lecture: ‘Transnational and Migration Processes: a New Global Reality and a Modern Challenge for Europe and Ukraine’ – Pavlo Hai-Nyzhnyk, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Scientific Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Political Sciences, Public and Political Figure.
  • Lecture: ‘Legal Status of Migrant Workers in the European Union’ – Oksana Holovko-Havrysheva, Candidate of Law Sciences, Associate Professor of the European Law Department of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Associate Professor of International and European Law of the National University ‘Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’, President of the Ukrainian Association of European Studies.
  • Lecture: ‘The Impact of the Influx of Refugees from Russia on the Situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asian Countries’ – Raikhan Tashtemkhanova, Professor at the Department of Regional Studies, Zhanar Medeubayeva, Professor at the Department of International Relations, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Coordinator of the ‘Jean Monet Chair-European Diplomacy’ Project (Republic of Kazakhstan).
  • Lecture: ‘The Migration and Demographic Situation and its Influence on Security in Europe and the World’ – Ihor Todorov, a Member of the Teaching Staff of the Research Project, Doctor of History, Professor of Uzhhorod National University, Director of the Information Centre for International Security and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Uzhhorod National University, Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the All-Ukrainian Civic League ‘Ukraine-NATO’.
  • Lecture: ‘Migration in the Countries of the European Union: the Political Aspect of the Problem on the Example of Slovak Republic’ – Grigorij Mesežnikov, President of the Institute for Public Affairs (Bratislava, Slovak Republic).
  • Lecture: ‘Methodology and Methods of Organizing and Conducting a Sociological Study of the Problems of Migration, Displaced Persons and War Refugees: the Significance of their Results’ – Petro Tokar, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Researcher of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies of UzhNU, Associate Professor of the Department of International Studies and Public Communication, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Migration and Demography of Uzhhorod National University, Director of JMTC, Honorary Professor of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

Participants from Ukrainian universities, Slovak Republic and Kazakhstan participated in the summer school. A considerable part consisted of professors, associate professors, international teachers, political scientists, sociologists, and public servants. The listeners noted the high level of organization of events and its positive importance for increasing their competence in on issues of immigration and transnationalism, modern migration processes in Ukraine and EU countries in wartime. The training manual ‘Immigration and Transnationalism’ was presented during the summer school (the authors of the training manual were most of the speakers at summer school classes.). All summer school participants will receive certificates.
