On May 26 – June 20, 2022, Uzhhorod National University was held the online lecture course ‘Ukraine in the History of Europe and European Policy of Ukraine: Basic Prerequisites, Stages, and Prospects for Implementation’ in the framework of the project ‘Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for Studying European Development Strategies’ (academic coordinator of the project - Director of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Ivan Artyomov).
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students, postgraduate and doctoral students, and, finally, anyone who wanted to increase their knowledge in this field were the target audience of the online lecture course.
Lecturer – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of National Academy of Science (NAS) of Ukraine, Head of the Department of History of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of Science and Technology, Honorary Doctor of Uzhhorod National University Stepan Vidnyanskyi.
The lecture course consisted of 30 hours. The topics of the lectures were very relevant and diverse, in particular: ‘Ukraine in the History of Europe through the Ages: an Attempt to Generalize and Actualize the Problem’, ‘Europe is a Dream of Unity: European Integration as a Legitimate Historical Process’, ‘Association Agreement with the European Union as a Ukraine’s civilizational choice. The process and problems of the implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine’ and others.
The listeners noted the high level of organization and its positive importance for increasing their competence in the field of European history and foreign policy of Ukraine, Ukraine’s relations with individual EU member states, problems of implementation of the Association Agreement, prospects and alternatives of European integration. All participants of the event were awarded certificates.
