On June 15 - 17, 2022, Uzhhorod National University hosted the Second Summer online school on the training course ‘Immigration and Transnationalism: the EU Experience’ on the topic ‘Modern Migration Processes in Ukraine and the EU Countries: New Challenges and Uncertainties in the Conditions of War’. Summer school took place on the basis of the center of Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for Studying European Development Strategies.

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students, postgraduate and doctoral students, and, finally, anyone who wanted to increase their knowledge in this field were the target audience of the online school.

Lecturer and organizer of the summer school Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Researcher of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies of UzhNU, Associate Professor of the Department of International Studies and Public Communication, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Migration and Demography of Uzhhorod National University, Honorary Professor of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Petro Tokar.

Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Research, Doctor of Political Science, Professor Myroslava Lendel, Head of the Department of International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies Vitaliy Andreyko, Associate Professor of the same Department Mykhaylo Shelemba, employees of the Educational and Research Institute of European Integration Studies took part in the opening of the summer online school.

The summer online school was held via a video conferencing app, Google Meet. Leading scientists on immigration and transnationalism, and modern migration processes in Ukraine and the EU in wartime became speakers at the Summer School.

Students of the online school ‘Immigration and Transnationalism: the EU Experience’ on the topic ‘Modern Migration Processes in Ukraine and the EU Countries: New Challenges and Uncertainties in the Conditions of War’  noted the high level of speakers and the relevance of the topics discussed.

Many participants from Ukraine, Slovak Republic and Kazakhstan have registered to participate in the Second Summer Online School, including professors, associate professors, sociologists, political scientists, and civil servants. The students also noted the high level of organization of events and its positive importance for increasing their competence in the field of immigration and transnationalism, modern migration processes in Ukraine, and the EU in wartime. All participants will receive certificates.
